Kindoo Introduction

The Kindoo application allows you to use your phone to open a meetinghouse door in your teaching area instead of using a key or a fob.

Note: Only one person in a companionship will be able to use Kindoo on their device. Before following the steps below, please determine which companion will configure Kindoo on their device.

Getting Started in Areas New to Kindoo

Installing the App

If a new teaching area was recently created, or if missionaries have never used Kindoo in your teaching area:

  1. Open the Kindoo invitation that was sent to the teaching area email.
  2. If you do not have a Kindoo invitation in your teaching area email, contact the stake building representative to receive access.
  3. Click on the link to download the Kindoo app or go to the Maas360 App Catalog to download from there.

If previous missionaries were already using Kindoo in your teaching area, you won’t receive a new invitation email.

Allow Necessary Permissions

Enable access to your device’s location and Bluetooth to connect to nearby doors.

  1. Open the app.
  2. When prompted, enter the email address associated with your teaching area.
    • The teaching area email address has a format like 123456789@missionary.org where 123465789 corresponds to the teaching area number. If you have forgotten your teaching area email, go to mail.missionary.org and sign in using your Church account information.
  3. On the Church account sign-in page, use your personal Church account username and password to verify access.

  2. Locate accessible doors by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon (A black wifi symbol in the bottom-left corner of the app.)
  3. Tap Open on the screen.

Note: Doors equipped with Kindoo will display the following sticker:

Reconfiguring Kindoo after a Transfer

If you are transferred to an area where Kindoo is used to manage meetinghouse access, determine which missionary in the companionship will use Kindoo on their device. You will need to configure Kindoo to work with the meetinghouse(s) in your new teaching area.

If you do not have Kindoo, install the app.

  1. Go to the Maas 360 catalog and download the app.
  2. Enable access to your device’s location and Bluetooth to connect to nearby doors.

If you used Kindoo in a previous area, open the app and log out.

  1. Open the app and go to the Profile by selecting the person icon on the lower right.
  2. Scroll down on the Profile screen and log out.
    • This will prompt you to log back in and enable you to enter a different account email address.

Configure Kindoo for your current teaching area.

  1. Enter your current teaching area email address.
    • Kindoo recognizes that you are not the previous user associated with the email address and that you are using a different mobile device.
  2. Click OK.
    • An email is sent asking you to confirm that the Kindoo account for the teaching area should be associated with a different mobile device.
  3. Go to your teaching area email and open the Kindoo New Device Activation message.
    • Select the option to activate the new device.
  4. Return to Kindoo and enter the teaching area email address again.
  5. Click OK.
    • The system recognizes a different Church account is being used to authenticate than the one previously linked to the Kindoo account. A message is sent to the teaching area email enabling you to approve the switch.
  6. Open your teaching area email and find the Kindoo Login message.
  7. Select the option to approve the login.
  8. Sign in with your Church account to verify the account on your device

Troubleshooting

Our teaching email isn’t working. What do we do? First, reach out to the stake building representative to make sure your email has been granted access to the building you want access to. He or she can add users to the stake. The stake Kindoo manager should add the area teaching email as a user, and missionaries should log in to Kindoo using that email.

Door Won’t Open? Ensure you’re close to the door. Try toggling Bluetooth off and back on, or restarting the Kindoo app.

Connection Issues? Confirm that your phone’s data or Wi-Fi is on and try again.
