Does anyone know how to sort topics and posts in order to see the most recent inquiries from fellow members first?
For example upon first login I don't see the most recent posts, threads, topics etc, but rather posts from 2018 or 2020 or 2011.
I am sure there has to be an easy way to sort, as plain as the nose on my face, but I am not seeing it.
Any help, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated

By default, the thread with the most recent post will show at the top. But depending on where you click, you'll either start with the first post in the thread (which might be years old), or jump to the first unread post. I think clicking on the orange square or the thread icon will take you to the first unread.
My personal preference is to use the "Unread posts" function. From the top/left: Quick links > Unread posts.

Also be aware that the most recent post date is indicated on the right side of the page under the 'Last Post' column. The date found under the topic title is the date of the first post in that topic thread.
Clicking the topic title will take you to the first page of posts for the topic thread. To get to the most recent posts page, if there is more than one page of posts, click the last, or larger number, page number [just to the left of the 'REPLIES' column]. You can quickly tell if the last page or next to last page has any unread posts in that topic thread by hovering your mouse over a page number. The help text will display either 'No unread posts' or '[#] unread posts'.
Frequent visitors use the 'Quick links' menu in the top menu bar on the page just below the 'Tech Forum - Community Discussion of Church Technology' menu bar to use one of the links to give you grouping of topics such as 'New posts', 'Unread posts', 'Unanswered topics', 'Active topics', and so on. Those groups are sorted with the most recent first.

Re: Sorting Topics/Threads/Posts To See Most Recent At The Top
Good point. Some people see the date on the right side and mistake it for the post date. It's the date that member joined the forum.
Once you've opened the first page of the thread, there's a "First unread post" link on the right side, just above the first post.
But instead of clicking on the thread title, it's just easier to click on the icon (which will be read if there's any unread posts in the thread), or the reddish/orange square that marks a thread with new posts.
You can change the order of the posts in the thread though "User Control Panel", "Board Preferences", "Edit display options", "Display post order direction".
