Years ago you could create a URL in Gospel Library to point to a specific verse or group of verses and it worked PERFECTLY!
Unfortunately, entropy has set in and it no longer works as well.
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/stu ... g&id=16-17 will highlight verses 16-17 with a vertical bar.
But https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/stu ... ng&id16-19 doesn't highlight ANYTHING. Why are the D&C and PofGP broken / don't support this highlighting feature?
Also, the browser USED to jump down to the highlighted section, but now you must scroll. This just makes it harder to paste links in social media sites that take someone to the scriptures, highlight the verse for them, and scrolls down to the highlighted verses.
Is there an easy way to fix this? At LEAST we should have "&id=x-n" supported for ALL of the standard works. But the auto-scrolling to the highlighted section would also be very helpful, if that's not a huge lift. It enables a person to quote scripture IN CONTEXT, with the goal of getting prospective members to continue reading if they are inspired to do so.
Link to Specific Verse(s) (&id=x-n)

I compared your link to Romans 16-17 to the link provided when the preferred parapraph(s) are selected and then the 'Share' action icon clicked and then the 'Copy Link' action icon clicked. Note the differences:
Your link: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/rom/8?lang=eng&id=16-17
The Share link: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/rom/8?lang=eng&id=p16-p17#p16
The Share URL takes the user to the selected paragraphs with the vertical bar. No scrolling necessary. The Share URL works across all documents in Gospel Library.

See Deep Linking in Gospel Library for the required link format.

Thanks for pointing out the difference.jdlessley wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 1:39 pm The Share URL takes the user to the selected paragraphs with the vertical bar. No scrolling necessary. The Share URL works across all documents in Gospel Library.
Unfortunately the auto-scrolling is slightly broken. It scrolls to the correct verse (due to the use of #p16) however it is hidden from sight because it doesn't account for the title banner (Romans 8) above:
