We had a stake RS presidency member mark the spot for EFT reimbursements (she had being paying online tithing for a while.) Since they had just hosted a major event, there was a substantial reimbursement upcoming and we thought, great, let's skip the check. Well, she contacted us today because it hasn't gone through. I checked and saw that the EFT Status shows Pending Approval. If I hover my cursor over an information i, it says, "the eft needs manual approval by the CUBS user (over the disbursement limit)"
This reimbursement is for $1900 (for a stake RS activity, not unheard of I'm sure.) I know CUBS was the precursor to Finance in LCR. Any ideas? Did we just overload it with a big reimbursement right off the bat? Who need to approve this?

Re: EFT Issue
CUBS (Church Unit Banking System) is the system the Church uses for unit financial transactions and records. The user interface for units is Leader and Clerk Resources - Finance (LCRF). The most likely CUBS user the system information is referring to is the RS presidency member. There may be a transfer limit set by the user's bank for large transfers that requires the account holder to verify the legitimacy of the transfer. This is done for security reasons and to prevent fraud and money laundering. Each bank has their own limits and procedures to comply with banking regulations.
The easiest solution at this point is to contact support to get their help. It may be as simple as having the RS presidency member contact her bank to confirm she is expecting a $1,900.00 EFT from the Church's account at Zion Bank. My personal experience with my bank (not involving the Church) for a large inbound transfer was to log onto my bank website and look for pending transfers and accept it. In any case, support will be helpful.

Re: EFT Issue
I'd call support during Utah working hours. I suspect the authorization is on the church side. A deposit of $1,900 is nothing in this day of direct deposit paychecks, so I don't think it's the RS President's bank.
Was the stake president one of the two approvers?

Re: EFT Issue
Thanks for the ideas. Yes, the President was one of the approves. I'll call support tomorrow and I'll update in case someone else has this problem in the future.

Re: EFT Issue
Good to know it’s probably a church-side approval issue and not the RS president’s bank. I’ll reach out to support tomorrow and circle back here with whatever they say, in case anyone else runs into the same snag.

Re: EFT Issue
The EFT was completed today with no further action on our part. When I checked in the morning (right before calling HQ for support) it had changed from Pending Approval to Pending Execution. I decided to wait before calling We got word later that it had been received and processed. I think I just happened upon the message in the middle of the background processes (that we mostly ignore) and overreacted.
So, if someone googles the message in the future, the good news is that it will likely solve itself.

Re: EFT Issue
It's possible you just needed to wait for the approver to come to work.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there's some eyes at headquarters that need to approve transfers above a certain amount.
