A Map of our Ward Building?

New Clerk here!
We're adding a ward to our building. I've been asked to find a map of the ward building with all the rooms on it to help the new bishopric and primary allocate rooms to classes. Anybody know where I can find a building map?

Have you searched all the closets, drawers, and other storage locations where someone might have put such a map closer to the time the building was built?

I would make a request with FM. You can use the FIR app.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

There should be a set of "as built" drawings in the building, probably in an FM Group closet.

Another alternative is to have someone create a simple block drawing that shows the rooms and might be used to make class assignments. It could be very simple. It does not need to be detailed.

For your O.P. purpose, I'd say it would likely be worth the time to create a simple digital map as suggested here. I'm not a digital creative type, but I did this process around 15 years ago with a simple drawing app (and as mentioned, we did have detailed maps, but they were way too cluttered). Not making it to scale actually worked in our favor, as it allowed for better labeling of the various classrooms with different options. And we shrunk unused rooms (maintenance, etc) in size since they weren't applicable to our need.

And then make sure you save the doc in a shared location, since it could be a recurring need.

Thanks for the ideas folks.

I did find some drawings in a filing cabinet, but it was from the original building and not from after we extended the chapel and added a bunch of rooms 25 years ago! I also found the large architectural drawings folded up and hidden away, but they were too big.

I ended up just making a rough drawing, labeling the rooms, and I think that it will suffice. Thanks!
