No Letters Allowed in Bank Account Number
I received the dreaded "Bank Account Deleted" and "Donation Reversed" emails the other day. I recently changed banks and have been attempting to set up my accounts for ACH donations for tithing, etc. However, I noticed that my bank accounts each have a letter and sub account at the end of the account number for differentiation between the accounts, while still linking them all together with the original account number. I have the accounts all separated for various uses and have used one particular account to send bill payments out from. When I went to set this up on the donations site it informed me that it would only accept numbers for the account number. I tried to give it a whirl, without the letter, but with all the other numbers (including the ending sub account numbers) , hoping that it would accept this and be able to direct its ACH path to the right account. Well apparently that didn't work. So my question becomes, how am I supposed to use the donations site if each one of my accounts has a letter associated with it? And if I were to use the main account number - and not include the sub account part of the account number - how will the ACH know where to draw from? Because even the original account still has a sub account number at the end. I'm a little baffled and slightly irritated about the whole ordeal.

Re: No Letters Allowed in Bank Account Number
There's a chance someone who knows something about this might see this thread. Please keep in mind this is a user-to-user mutual-help forum. This is _not_ an official help/support request channel. To be guaranteed help from someone with official responsibility, please use the 'Feedback' link/button in the online donations section. Another option would be to talk with your ward clerk, who can arrange for contact with the Global Service Center who may be able to help more quickly.

Re: No Letters Allowed in Bank Account Number
If you have a check, you should use the exact same account number it shows on the check and the money should come out of the same sub-account as the check would. I'm pretty sure that checks do not allow letters in the account number. If you don't have a check you should probably contact your bank and find out the correct ACH number for transactions from the sub-account you want to use.
Of course, all of that assumes you're in the US. Otherwise, things may be different and you may need to contact the Global Service Center as mrrichesjr suggests.
