Except I have two wards that meet in the the same building at the same time. From both wards we have cubs, Achievement Girls, 11yr Scouts, and YM/YW all meeting at the sametime.

Adding a building scheduler not working

Post by ppeterson »

I am a new administrator and have been having this problem for a week. Sorry for your trouble but I'm relieved to know it's not just me. I've tried Firefox, Safari and Explorer on OS X and XP, all to no avail.

I've attached 2 screen shots and am open for suggestions. We have even tried it from another user with administrative rights and have the same problem.

As you'll note in the rest of this thread the issue is known and being worked. There is no work-around. There is no known date for the update release.

My mistake. I neglected to read the thread. Unfortunately when my predecessor was released he was the only building scheduler in the stake, so no one currently has the ability. The building scheduler is especially helpful for ensuring that things like wedding receptions are solidly booked. Many people have access to post calendar items, but booking the stake center was previously owned by one individual. Anyway, guess I'll wait it out.

Giving someone building scheduler rights does not automatically give them rights to any calenders to create events. The calendar "reservation" system does NOT "solidly book" a location. Do not use it for that purpose or it will come back to bite you.

To book a wedding, you need to give the new person access to a calendar that they can place that event on. You can do that now.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Unable to Add a Building Scheduler

I am not tech savy. I've tried multiple times to add a building scheduler and not only will it not allow me to do so, but it just keeps spinning.

You found this place! That takes some "savy." :)

It isn't just you, it is everyone. It is a problem that has been going on for at least a month, maybe more. If you keep reading here, you will find out when it is solved. In the mean time, all other aspects of the calendar system seem to be working. The only thing that cannot be done is adding new schedulers. Two things you can do: you can use the old schedulers to make reservations, or just not use the "reservation" calendar and schedule everything on the "events" calendars.

We are doing the second option. We are actually finding out we don't need the reservations calendars at all.

:)

I'm telling our members to not use the online calendar. We're jumping ship.
