ward clerk locked out of computer

Post by mricketts »

I received a message from a ward clerk that they have been locked out of their windows account. I have to be honest and say that I didn't know that I, as the stake technology specialist, was responsible for this. When we got new computers, I just handed the computers to the clerks and they set them up.

What do I need to do to help them get access to their computer?

If you didn't do the setup, there's not much you can do. If you set it up, then you may have created a stake or STS account that could be used to reset other passwords.

Did the clerk forget their password? Too many bad attempts may trigger a temporary lockout. Typical is 15 minutes. It prevents brute forcing the password.

If they are completely locked out with no access, someone will need to call support when they are open. The church has an account.
