Sheet Music

Post by verduarte »

For past month or so the 'Sheet music 'view of the Hymns in the Gospel Library app (IOS/iphone XR) doesn't scroll smoothly like it used to. It scrolls so slowly and mostly jerky that it's not possible to follow along and sing in church. Worked fine for years. No other problems with the app or phone. I can scroll the 'Lyrics' tab view fine. Anyone else experience this or know possible issue? Thanks.

Are you still seeing this issue? If so, which version of Gospel Library do you have installed (you can check in Gospel Library settings > App Details)? There were some general improvements to slowness and unresponsive buttons on some devices, in Gospel Library 7.7.1 (released July 11th) and 7.7.2 (released July 21st).

My current Gospel Library App version: 7.7.5. 20966
The scrolling lag of the sheet music appears to have been resolved, but I'm guessing the solution was that the tech team changed the dynamic wide width of the sheet music to a fixed narrow width.

I used to be able to read and scroll the sheet music on my devices sideways so as to view a more complete staff of lyrics and notes. It allowed scrolling less often also..

Lately (past month or more?) whether device is held vertically or horizontally, the sheet music tab/view displays a fixed narrow view of staff/lyrics. So one has to scroll often and eyes drop to next line after only a few words in song.

So, if I'm confident about knowing the music, instead I use the tab for lyrics text. I'd rather always view the sheet music (tab) but not when it's just a 2" wide staff /line of a few words.

Thanks for your work maintaining and improving the church apps.
