Combine out of unit members

Discuss questions around local unit policies for membership (creating records, transferring records, etc.) This forum should not contain specific financial or membership information.

Combine out of unit members

Our bishop created a couple new out of unit member records in our ward, but they are listed as separate households. Yet when I try to combine them it gives me an error saying they are already in the same household. I assume this is just a bug and I need to delete and recreate one of the records, but thought I ask here.

I’ve also had the same issue when I created an Out of Unit Member record in the last month, for a couple of Senior Missionaries. I’m sure this didn’t used to be the case! Must admit I haven’t done anything about it. :|

Sounds like a call to support is in order to report this.

I'm guessing the members share a household in their primary ward. That's what's triggering the error message.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Yeah that’s what I am thinking. I will log a support ticket but went ahead and deleted and re-added the member to the household successfully.

We cannot currently combine out of unit members. It has been this way for a number of years, and not sure it can be fixed since we really don't have the actual memberships in our units.

Where do they show as separate households? I see 4 out of unit members in your ward and in LCR both on the member directory page and the member profile pages the two couples show in the same household. If you need to send me personal data on them you can send me a private message.
