Child missing from Primary Reports

Post by michaeljoehershberger »

I have two children that are Nursery age that do not show up on any Nursery reports. They are in the ward, BIC, part of member households, look setup correctly, show up on member lists, but do not show up in Primary reports or as part of primary, What am I not seeing?
Thanks

From LCR, go to the Head of House record. Do the children show up on both the Household tab and the Family tab for their families? If they are on the Family tab but not on the Household tab, they are listed as children in the family (essentially genealogical information) but they don't have membership records (or they have membership records that are not in your ward/branch). If this is the case, you can try to request their records to verify if they were somehow separated from their parents. If they don't have membership records, the ward clerk and assistant clerk-membership have access to create their records after following the church policies.

You can manually add them to the class. In LCR:
  • Click on Organizations > Primary
  • Click on Nursery
  • Select the Members tab
  • Click on "Add Member" (bottom right of the list)
  • Enter the member's name and select the member
  • Click the Save button

Adding them to Primary worked. I didn't know this was available.
Thanks Much

Thank you! This worked for me too. I had them both as family and in the household. Adding them per your instructions worked!

I have the same issue - the child is listed under both the family and household tabs of her parents but is not appearing on the nursery roster. When I click "add member" to the roster and type in her name (or any other name for that matter) the search function glitches and doesn't allow me to add anyone. I've also tried using the membership number.

Any other suggestions?

I'd double check the date of birth and make sure it's a valid value for someone still in primary.

Thank you SO MUCH. This still worked perfectly for me to fix the issue that the Primary Secretary pointed out today.

Just ran into the same issue today (Oct 2025) for two of our newer nursery kids and this solution worked for me.

Not sure why the system didn't automatically assign them to nursery. There is another child in our ward who is younger than these two that was correctly assigned to nursery... but their records were transferred in recently.

I'd just note that sometimes users have reported that somebody who was manually added to a class, was not then automatically moved to the next class the following year. So you might want to make a note somewhere to check that whenever these nursery children graduate to their Sunbeams class (I'm guessing Jan 2027, maybe), they move there correctly.
