How to enter a civil marriage in LCR

I need to enter a civil marriage for a current male member with a spouse who just moved into the Ward. How do I do that. I have moved her into the Ward but cannot find out to create a marriage and change her new name?

Before you begin you will need the marriage date and marriage place and whether they are living at the same address (same household). Open one of the membership records (I prefer to use the brother's record) found in LCR > Membership > Member Directory. Click the Family tab. In the Marriage section click the 'Add Marriage' link on the right side of the page. Follow the prompts. If the spouse is a member of the Church you will need to enter either the name and date of birth or the MRN. One of the prompts for a member spouse will ask if her name will be changing. Answer accordingly and follow those prompts. Once the marriage is recorded in the membership record for the first member then open the membership record for the member spouse to see if the marriage has linked to that membership record. My experience is the linking is quite quick, almost instantly, for members in the same unit.

If the members are in the same household make sure their records show they are in the same household after the marriage is recorded. In the brother's record click the household tab. His wife should show there as 'spouse' and not 'other'. If it is not showing, then click the 'Add Household Members' link on the rights side of the page and enter the spouse name or MRN in the Member Lookup text box to add her to his household.
