If I were to get that message, it would mean I would be required to purchase a new phone. Android has updated as far as it is able to on my smarter than I am phone.

Re: Unable to sign in on my 'LG G4 Android 6'
I'm having the EXACT same problem. I'm on Android 6 on an LG phone, so it's not just Samsung devices having issues. I get the same sign in issues for EVERY church app; I type in my username & am met with the same error message which is far from helpful, before I'm presented enter my password. It must be some certificate compatibility issue with the lower supported Android API levels like Android 8, 7, & 6. I can't add my missionary account to my lg g4 phone either, with a connection error to 'id.churchofjesuschrist.org'. It must be the church servers or something.

Re: Unable to sign in
Would you be able to share what version of Android OS you are using, and what version the message from Gospel Library said you need to have to continue using the app?

Re: Unable to sign in
I ran into the unable to sign in problem after getting a Pixel 6 Pro, Android 14. Gospel Library and the church website both logged in just fine, but Member Tools had troubles. I found this forum and it appeared this is still a problem. I found a Google support page that showed how to fix apps that aren't working and it recommended to stop the app and clear the cache. I did that and Tools let me sign in and sync. Just thought I'd share this, maybe it'll help someone.
This is the site I found: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/a ... 4904?hl=en

Re: Unable to sign in
I had the same issue, the app failed, and I reinstalled. after reinstallation it would give me an error at login saying login failed try again.
I am on android
I went into the app settings, and under permissions, manually gave it the permissions that the app needed, (location, address book etc)
after that it started up fine without issue.
