Based on a check of the access table, bishopric counselors and the ward executive secretary can edit member contact information but not membership information. It works just fine online -- if you have rights to change that data. You don't. If everything is working right, you won't be able to change it in MLS and will be redirected to LCR, so that will be a wasted trip to the office.kenny.eliason wrote:Surprisingly this still isn't a thing? If a preferred name is entered into the leader and clerk resources, membership system, will that preferred name automatically update the Member Tools app to reflect that new preferred name there as well? If so, does anyone know about how long that takes? If not, is there another place where the preferred name needs to be changing in order to have that be the name that shows up on the tools app?

Yes, it will. After the clerk updates the name in LCR, two things need to happen. The membership system needs to talk to the Member Tools system, which usually happens overnight. After that takes place, Member Tools needs to update.
