Please make BYU talks and podcasts available to missionaries

#1

Post by kjablonski »

As a missionary, my son is unable to access talks and podcasts from the BYU website. Nor is he able to access church related YouTube Videos that are produced. I am not sure about accessing YouTube videos or if there is anything that can be done about allowing them to access those, but I’m fairly sure that something could be done for them to see the BYU content.

URL in question:
https://speeches.byu.edu

Currently, they are blocked from seeing this content on any Mission approved mobile device or computer within a church building.

As a parent anytime I think there is a talk, speech, or podcast that would benefit him from this site, I have to convert the speech, download it and send it using email or use Google Drive as a storage place in order for him to see or listen to it.

There are no decision-makers who visit this forum. Most likely this request would need to come from the missionary department. I'd suggest your missionary take it up with his mission president.

It's possible that the action is deliberate, not because the content is inappropriate, but because it could become a time-sink and distract them from their mission.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
