Another tool you can use is the Meetinghouse Library. Populate automatically your local Meetinghouse media server or home media server with the libraries you choose. For example when a video is added to that library or libraries you have subscribed to it will automatically download the media to the location you have chosen.
Set it and forget it!
Subscribe to the libraries you want in your media library
Point where you want the media to be stored on a network share, laptop, desktop, USB drive, home network, etc…
Schedule it to run as often you would like to check for new media
And more
This looks great. I especially like the idea of having a single server download from LDS.org and using btsync for the rest of the meeting houses in the stake. It would be neat if we could have a worldwide meetinghouse bt network to lighten the load on LDS.org and speed things up.
Do you have a github address for the source? I have java experience and could help out.

That question would be better addressed to the author. Go to his website and post your question there.
My question was addressed to him, he started this thread. Is the LDSTech forum not a place to discuss things like this? Tech things..?
Sure, it's fine to discuss things here. But when you just make a post without mentioning someone's name, it's not obvious whether you are addressing the community at large, or a specific person.
In any case, I certainly wasn't criticizing your action. The main reason I suggested that you contact him via his website is that he hasn't made a post here since March. That seems to indicate that he is not likely to see your post here, so I was trying to make a helpful suggestion that might increase the chance of you connecting with dwariner.
@dudleygrantbutt - I have this mapped out and framework in place. I will work on this for this last General Conference. I can also give you access and show you how you can help speed the process up. Thanks

Excellent, yes please, I'm keen to assist. I'm a fluent Java developer and experienced with GIT etc. I've been manually downloading these images etc. Not exactly fun
Please advise how I can help? From what I can see, we need to get a link/url list of all the media files and they are then put into XML files which are then used to download the content? How are you getting those links? I really want to download all the temple images, gospel art, memes, qoutes, mormon messages, bible videos etc etc. Basically setup a digital meetinghouse library. Once we have the recipe and the hardware, it will be easy to replicate across all meetinghouses (currently, I've been using the humble raspberry pi - works really well and is well supported for all codecs.)
This is so absolutely awesome! I am a hardcore Plex user - have been for some time in all sorts of applications, from home media servers to ones that I've built for my family's cars for long-distance drives.
For questions about how the current java version works, should we discuss those here? I didn't see the full forum functionality on the GitHub site... Specifically, I wanted to know if the loading of the media library links is recursive? (does it re-load them during a current session?) or are do the links only get loaded upon startup of the *.rar?
Thanks again for doing this - building 3 servers now for my Stake's buildings.
