Adding photos to Facebook church building entries

#1

Post by wrigjef »

I have a Practice of checking in on Facebook at church each week (or as often as I'm in the building). This has prompted many discussions with nonmembers as I include a comment on the post about what I'm doing or what I'm learning. As far as I can tell if you search for "Church of Jesus Christ" most every building is there, however most do not have pictures. How do we as users add as picture to a Facebook location entry?

It depends what kind of page it is – is it a page like this:

Or like this?:

In facebook I just click on "check-in" with location services turned on when I am in the church building. It brings up several popular near by or most recently visited places. Sometimes the church building is listed and some times I have to search for it. It's not really a page but a location. Every building I have done this with starts with "church of Jesus Christ" after executing the search the location comes up with the address. I imagine if there were several buildings in close proximity then several would come up and you would have to find the matching address. Again these do not appear to be pages that a local member has put up but locations that may have been submitted by salt lake when the building was built or when facebook started accepting them.

OK. I'm not sure whether they were submitted by the church (since they spell "Latter-day" as "Latter Day") or by a local member, but either way, good idea! It looks like you can add a photo either by clicking the "Suggest a Photo" link in the top right of the filler image, or by clicking "Edit" at the top right of the page.

I did or see these options while using the facebook app on my iPad but on the website I do. I just suggested and uploaded a picture (of Christ). We'll see if it shows up next time I check in from there. Thanks!
