An executive secretary is an assistant to the bishopric or stake presidency.
Stake executive secretary
The stake executive secretary is responsible for the following tasks:
- Coordinates stake business between the stake presidency and the high council
- Prepares meeting agendas
- Schedules appointments
- Distributes copies and Church publications and correspondence
- Reviews home teaching reports with the stake presidency
- Coordinates the Church magazine subscription drive for the stake
- Maintains a list (obtained from the wards) of stake members serving in the military
- Trains ward executive secretaries (if requested)
Ward executive secretary
The ward executive secretary is responsible for the following tasks:
- Coordinates the Church service of the bishopric with the other leaders in the unit
- Prepares meeting agendas
- Schedules appointments
- Distributes copies of Church publications and correspondence
- Reviews home teaching reports with the bishop
- Coordinates the Church magazine subscription drive for the ward
- Helps with annual seminary and institute registrations (see the Seminary and Institute of Religion website for detailed instructions)
- Maintains a list of ward members serving in the military
