We're trying to organize a ward movie night, and we want it to be Christ-centered; however, General Handbook 38.8.11 states that only Church copyrighted materials can be displayed publicly unless permission has been obtained.
It appears that the Church basically has no full length feature films that are focused on Christ.
How have others handled this?
Does anyone here have experience with contacting the Church Intellectual Property Office about matters like this?

Double-check this, but I think that The Chosen tv series copyright allows churches to view it for free without a separate license. I think that's about as Christ-centered of a video as you can get. Is that what you had in mind?

Update: fill out this form to get permission for The Chosen specifically. It'll ask things about your audience and venue but I filled it out and immediately got an email approval response

I'd suggest reading through these existing Forum posts for additional discussion, and perhaps use one of these existing threads to post your question, to help collect the discussion in a single location.

Re: Full length movie copywrite
There are 3 movies that they showed in the Legacy theater for a while, they aren't full length movies but they are each about an hour
- Legacy (I wasn't able to find the actual video on the churches website, but I did find it youtube)
- The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepherd (same with this one)
- Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration
