Out of unit record

I’ve communicated with leaders regarding creating out of unit records for my wife and I. I believe we are in agreement that it’s justified. How will I know when the record has been created? When you move and change wards normally, the indicator is seeing your access changed. Will this be the same with an out of unit record?

I believe the easiest way for a member might be to look at the directory, but other more knowledgeable forum members might have a better approach. Since your home unit will remain the same, I don't know that there will be any default "indicator" showing that an out-of-unit record exists, unless perhaps an out-of-unit leadership calling is recorded (I'm not personally familiar with how that aspect might work).
Using the online Ward Directory and Map, if you select the drop-down in the upper-left corner and select the "new" unit, you can check if your name also appears there along with your home unit. And if your out-of-unit record is in another stake, that stake info should appear in the drop-down list.
Using the directory in the Member Tools app, the same kind of approach works for both in-stake and out-of-stake out-of-unit records.. Note that it's quite possible that a Data Refresh might be required to force a sync with your new info.

The directory will show all units in both area. You will be able to see leadership in both Stakes and wards.
