Don’t forget that unless you’re in a leadership calling and dependant on local country privacy settings, you might not be able to see member photos.

Valid point for the UK and other areas that are "opt-in", but from the user name, I'm pretty sure he's in the US which is "opt-out" on privacy.

I'd check the settings in Member Tools. At least on Android there's a setting to download the photos. It's probably there to save on storage and bandwidth.
