API access to LDS Living

#1

Post by tmantzke »

I've just started using the Living app to be more more involved in EQ and my ward as a whole. There is a lot of potential for integration with other apps, particularly things like calendar, journal, and organization apps. I want to be able to do things like combining Living goals and tasks with the scriptures and integrating that into my calendar or workflow.

Is there an API available for Living? For ANY LDS app? I know there are some third-party things out there, but it would be so much better to have something official.

Is there any word from the church about an official LDS API in the future?

The only APIs I'm aware of are for FamilySearch, and maybe the scriptures. For the calendar, if you go to the webpage you can setup a sync URL to download an ics file. (There is no upload ability).

Due to laws on privacy, there's no chance the church will support an API for information about members, such as a ward directory. You'll have to be content with the apps the church has developed such as Member Tools for Android and iOS.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

For clarity, "LDS Living" is a magazine produced by Deseret Book.
I think in this thread you're asking about "Gospel Living," one of the Church's official apps.
