Troubleshooting "Member Tools Services are unavailable"

When encountering this error message, there's a number of things to check:
The service may just temporarily be down. Sundays are a particularly bad day to be doing a sync. Depending on the problem, you may have to wait for normal office hours US Mountain Time for it to be resolved.
Make sure you're running a current version of the app. As of this writing, it's Version 5.1.2 for both Android and iOS. Older versions may no longer be supported. Depending on the age of your phone, it may not be able to run the current version. As if this posting, you'll need to have at minimum Android 8.0 or iOS 16.0 or higher.
Verify that your account shows you are a member and your records are in a ward. You can test this by going to the Ward Directory and Map.
On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it's turned on for Member Tools.
Make sure you're not using a VPN or other security software that may be blocking access to the church servers. Likewise, if using WiFI, the WiFi network might be blocking access.
Try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling.
