New Computer Configured for wrong ward - Need to start Over

Hello,
I had 4 computers that needed to be updated and installed into 4 wards. I successfully did 3. The 4th - I configured and set up for the wrong ward. I now know the right ward, and need to make sure the computer is set up for the new ward, and the old \ wrong ward is removed.

Not sure how to pull this off, so hoping for some guidance.

I'd contact support.

Computer name and login name are two things that come to mind, but there's likely to be other ramifications.

If you follow the current instructions to wipe a drive, you will wind up with a clean version of Windows. You might then download the provisioning tool and start configuring the computer again. This would be for a desktop. If you have a Chromebook laptop, the process may be different and the call to support would probably provide better directions.

Yes, since posting I called GSD. Apparently I stumped them as there are now KB for this scenario. Being Escalated to a TRS.

I would suggest the following:
  1. Use your wrong Windows login to create a new user with the right username and password.
  2. Make that user an Admin.
  3. Login to the newly created user and make sure everything is working OK.
  4. Delete the wrong user's Windows login along with any personal files it might have had.
  5. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure the unit number is part of the machine name. But what renaming does to the church's management system is a open question.

The unit number identified in the machine name is what LCR uses to confirm whether a check is printed from the unit computer or not. I don't know whether LCR will allow printing a check on another computer or not, but headquarters will be notified if a check is printed from a computer other than the unit computer. I suspect an inquiry would be started in that case.
