Accessing Links in Circles

#1

Post by creedalene »

I have an Android device, and whenever I post links to a group the majority of my ward is able to access it. However, I have one iPhone user who has been unable to click the link within the app, no matter what we try. The troubleshooting steps we've taken so far:
1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your iPhone is connected to a stable internet connection, either through Wi-Fi or cellular data.
2. App Update: Make sure the Gospel Living app is updated to the latest version. Check the App Store for any available updates for the app.
3. iOS Update: Ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS, as updates can fix bugs that might affect app performance.
4. App Permissions: Check if the app has the necessary permissions to access links or web content. Go to Settings > 'Gospel Living' and ensure necessary permissions are enabled.
5. Clear Cache: If the app has an option to clear cache or data, try doing so to remove any potentially corrupted data.
6. Reinstall the App: Uninstall the 'Gospel Living' app and then reinstall it from the App Store. This can resolve issues related to the app's installation.
My question, is this functionality disabled on the apple version of the app on purpose? If not, does anyone have any experience that might help us get them up and connected?

Same issue here—iOS user, and I can’t open links. Might be a safety thing, but it’s a bit limiting since I prefer using Circles for ward messaging over a third-party app.

Another feature that would be super helpful: a ward-wide Circle where only admins can post. It’d be great if admin messages in Circles could stand out more, especially when they include important links or updates.

For awareness, the Tech Forum is not connected in any way to the Church's support teams, and the method for getting these types of ideas into the Church, is via the Feedback tool at the bottom of most Church webpages, or via the Church apps. There is no automated process for getting feature requests from Forum posts into the Support queue, and we also are on the outside and (most likely) won't have any inside knowledge of why certain features are limited or not enabled. Asking questions here is always a good idea since there's a chance somebody might have insight, but just wanted to set expectations.
