DMBA Senior Service Medical Plan EFT Authorization

#1

Post by mikejlogan5 »

We have a senior couple preparing to leave on a mission and we were emailed a Senior Service Medical Plan Automatic EFT Payment Authorization. They asked us to fill it out and return it to them. Am I right to assume that the financial details (Acct No., account holder, voided check, etc) are for the ward account?

If so, I imagine the monthly EFT withdrawal will come out of our general account. How do I move that EFT to the senior missionary's sub account?

Sorry for the slim understanding, we haven't had a senior missionary from our ward since I've been the ward clerk :(

Last I heard, in the USA, EFT won't work for vendors. You'll have to send a check and they have to deposit to at the bank. They can't convert it to a EFT/ACH. The church accounts will not accept a EFT request.

I'd suggest looking at Handbook 24.3.4.2, 24.3.4.2. While it refers to Senior Service Medical Plan, it may be their responsibility to pay for it, not the missionary fund.
