OBS Camera iOS & Church WiFi

#1

Post by zachtannerokc »

Has anyone had success using the OBS camera app for iPhone and OBS studio on a PC?

I’m running video for a funeral in a meetinghouse I’m unfamiliar with - I’d like to run the broadcast on OBS from my laptop, run a USB camera to the pulpit and a remote camera (or two) from iOS devices - the issue I’m anticipating is the devices not being able to connect to the PC via the Liahona/Lehi network due to church security settings.

Thoughts?

I've had success using the camera on my iOS device wirelessly to Zoom. I didn't go through OBS for that, but your question seems to be around whether Church network security settings would block the feed from an iOS device. I'm not aware of any such issue. As far as I know, I would expect you to be successful using OBS in this way. As with any live broadcast your key to success will be getting access to the facility the night before or at least several hours before the event to be sure you're able to test and adjust for a successful flow.

I have used my Android device frequently as a second camera with VDO.Ninja (a website and a native IOS app) that you can use to send the video to OBS. You just add a browser source to the website. I have never had any issues with it both on Liahona and a hidden network.
