What is the least frictional and lowest interaction pathway to removing name and records from the corporation of the church?

Can it be done online?

The process is outlined in the General Handbook 32.14.9, Requests to Resign Membership. The method is to write a letter to the bishop. It cannot be done online.

What is the least frictional and lowest interaction pathway...
If the member desires low interaction with the local leaders, then the option outlined in GHB 32.14.9 of sending a signed, notarized request to Church headquarters, might be what's preferred.

While not always the best option, I do like the process of the member interacting with the local Bishop (even if it's not in-person). I think it's (usually) helpful for the member to have the opportunity to share their deeply-held, personal feelings with the Bishop, and for the Bishop to have the opportunity to listen and understand their perspective on why they are resigning their church membership. But as mentioned, there is the option to communicate directly with Church HQ.

Just prior to my call as Bishop, a dear friend and his wife resigned their membership via an attorney who advertises this service pro bono. Shortly thereafter, through his support, a family in the ward sent me an email requesting to resign their membership. The sister and I had several email exchanges but she and her husband would not accept my offer for a face to face visit.

I simply requested a signed letter from each family member a request to remove their names from the records of the church. For the minor children, one an infant, I requested that the parents countersign their letters. I received them via mail, scanned, and submitted via LCR. Shortly thereafter, I received notification that their request had been granted.

This doesn’t work for me

I want no further interaction with anyone

I simply want to be withdrawn from the membership rules and have no further interaction with anyone ever again

How do I do this?
