Satellite system operational in UK?

I'm in the UK. We were planning to use our satellite equipment to show a session of General Conference today. However, neither my bishop nor I can get the thing to work. All appears operational, and there's still a dish outside. Someone said they heard that the church has discontinued satellite broadcasting. Is this the case, or are there still satellite broadcasts in some areas of the world?
If it's still "on", has there been a frequency change that we haven't been told of? I'm the new ward technology specialist, so I'm kind of clueless, and the stake tech spec isn't being available at the moment.

Are you able to hook up and view through the internet instead?

The Church satellite system was discontinued last year. I believe there are one or two areas in the world, but not the UK, who still have access to a satellite.

Satellite is available, at least in some parts of the world. Unless there's an unusal need, I'm suprised FM left the system installed.

In the UK, I asked our FMG when they would be removing the redundant satellite equipment, they stated that it would happen during a routine visit. I take that to mean that this will happen when other work involving ladders etc is on site!

That was our fallback, and that is what we did. For some reason, our internet speeds on our cat5 are abysmal (11.6 down; 0.83 up), but hooked up to the cable the session came over OK.
