"All Day" Calendar Events Set to 3 Days (instead of 1) - for 11 March 2023 and beyond!

All single "All Day" events are showing up as a 3 day event (instead of a 1 day event). Basically, any "All Day" event is showing up with an extra day tacked on to the beginning and the end of the event.

Interesting that this is true for anything posted to the calendar after (about) March 11th, 2023. Today is July 10th, 2022. (Yes, I'm working on planning for 2023)

Making it an hourly event and then changing it to an "All Day" event does not help. Nor does any other combination seem to help.

Is there a "fix" for this one??

Sounds like a new manifestation of the DST bug where events show up as off by an hour. That usually fixes itself when the calendar transitions to the same DST as the event.

Thanks for the response. Is there a work-around? Or, planned fix?

There are posts in this forum going back more than 15 years discussing how this problem keeps showing up twice a year in various configurations. I do not hold out hope for a fix. I have never seen a successful workaround. When the Calendar gets to the magic day in March or November each year, the problem appears to resolve itself until the next time shift. But, it has always been an illusion.

Perhaps Congress will finally pass that law ending the change to and from daylight saving time. The Senate passed it. We just need a brave House of Representatives to do the same.

Or the Millennium will arrive. Or it will end and there shall be time no longer (see D&C 88:110).

Sorry to be so helpful. [grin]

I can't remember seeing this bug before. Really frustrating having an Australian timezoned event beholden to US DLS changes.

Fun bonus fact with this:
If you go in and edit the start date to be the correct date, it adds an extra day to the end of it even if the date on the edit page doesn't show the date changing.

This bug is really annoying.

As a stake executive secretary I need to update the stake calendar almost daily and with this new bug I cannot set future stake conferences and other events as before (and all the members of the stake see them in wrong days). Also all the repeating events (stake presidency meetings, stake council meetings etc.) show up an hour too early for the DST period. Is there a channel where this bug can be reported so that it can be fixed to work as before?

Either the feedback link at the bottom of the page, or calling GSD.

Let's get some momentum behind getting this fixed - pls call & enter feedback on the website.
  • Church Global Services Development:
It sound like this bug has been around for years and years - time to fix it or move to a new calendar system.

Thx!

It appears that Australia also has DST. Just to clarify, are you seeing this bug starting with the US DST change in March or the Australian one in April?

I've been told a completely new calendar system is due in September.
