Stake President has asked me to buy a camera for each of our Ward buildings for Zoom meetings. Any suggestions?? Want to try to avoid having a camera right in front of the pulpit. Anyone have a camera in the back of the chapel??

If you want it at the back of the chapel then you ideally want a 20x zoom PTZ camera. 10x or 12x works ok too depending on if you are fussy about the framing etc.

If you have a HDMI capture device then the options are many and reasonably cost effective.
If you don't have a HDMI capture device then you'll be looking for a USB camera which are more expensive but there are some Chinese brands out there that do the job well.

Search Amazon for USB PTZ camera and you'll find some options.

Did you get given a budget or are you collecting information to supply back to them?
Depending on the number of buildings in your stake, they might be shocked by the cumulative cost needed.

And be sure to work with your FM group. They can often run CAT5e/CAT6, SDI coax, install A/C power outlets, etc., all up to code to assist you. They can also let you know what is and isn't currently allowed in non-stake center buildings. You may be looking at a portable setup that needs to be taken down after the last meeting each week.

We put in each of our 3 stake buildings a FoMaKo portable Conference PTZ 12x mounted on a tripod with the HDMI tied to a Flint 4KP video capture card. Each setup was around $900 plus some cables. They all have been working great for over a year so far.
