Circles for Stake Youth Council

Is there a way to use circles for the Stake Youth Council? As stake leaders we are concerned with using outside group communication such as groupme. There does not seem to be a way to utilize circles for this leadership group.

Creating additional circles beyond those currently available is not currently possible. Being able to create circles is a feature that has been requested ever since shortly after the Gospel Living app was released. As with most program development by the Church there is very little to no announcement made of schedules or public release of program enhancements. It just shows up when it is ready.

So could we. Messaging out to youth helping with the Stake Youth Council is really clunky right now. The calling is not set up in the app formerly known as LDS Tools to be a stake calling that bishops can make assignments to, so having a list of the youth currently helping with the Stake Youth Council requires a lot of attention outside of the normal resources you would go to find who is helping with a church calling. Also, once you have the contact information for those kids, some kids receive group texts, others do not. If the calling were configured in "LDS Tools" like I mentioned, the group could be formed in the circles app and remove all complication of reaching out to youth. We recently learned what an issue this is by having six adult leaders try chasing down the information, when one of the youth had been doing it before, and it needs some attention. If it were a normal church calling in the church's system, bishops would also be able to make assignments to the Stake Youth Council just like they would for any calling. Thanks

I can't think of a single stake calling that wards can enter. There are some that require stake approval, such as the ward clerk, but no stake calling. All stake callings have to be entered by the stake.

Has there been any updates to the Circles app that would let a stake use circles to communicate with the stake youth council? Can we create a group in circles that would just include the youth on the stake youth council? There is a "adults" circle. Is there a "youth" circle?

We are being encouraged to let the Youth lead, yet there is no Circle for Stake Youth Council members to communicate and co-ordinate Stake Youth meetings/activities/etc.

I don't know what has to happen on the back end, but if we are to use this resource/tool for Youth development purposes, please provide an option for this.

Nobody here can answer the question or expedite the implementation of the feature. Please use the Feedback link or button on the Church website and/or ask your stake president to raise the issue at his Coordinating Council meetings.
