For the last 6 years we have been using an online system to manage our callings in the Stake and the wards. The name of the site is www.ldscallings.com

The basic details include a dashboard that gives you an up to date account of what stage the callings in your stake/ward are at, and what needs to be done to move the calling onto the next stage.

The benefits are as follows...
..Easy to read and navigate
..As long as you have access to the internet you have access to the callings
..Very simple to setup
..Being online, the callings dashboard is updated almost instantly
...Being online, members of the Bishopric or Stake Presidency can view the callings at any time. Very helpful when someone is out of town.
...Creates reports, sustaining lists etc for review.

Check it out at www.ldscallings.com and let me know what you think

Personally, I think any leader who puts names of members into a non-church website without the member's permission is taking risks. Depending on the privacy laws in the country, if things go badly, there could be a lawsuit. The stress and financial impact is likely to be life-altering. The church may not offer any protection as they would have a strong financial interest in throwing the leader under the bus to protect the treasury from potential millions in liability. There's absolutely nothing in the church manuals about using such a service, so it's something the leader has decided on their own.

While the risk may be small, the potential personal damage is large. I would recommend any leader thinking about this consult with an attorney to better assess the risks.

Sorry to rain on the parade. From what I see of the screen shots on the main page, it looks nice.

Thank you for your reply. You are quite correct in regards of the confidentiality and security of the information that we put online.

This was a major factor when we went through the process of creating the website.

The website was setup by a programmer who deals with sensitive information on a daily basis, su she has made it as secure as possible. The database is stored on a SQL server and has a secure level of encryption.
The domain name is listed in her name, she never accesses the data and has a test database setup to fix any errors that we might inform her of.

Each stake or ward that uses the website have their own access and username, and they are encouraged to use a high level of password complexity.

I hope this helps to I'm some way answer any queries you may have.
