Our stake is very dispersed geographically and also have a small stake center, so I assist the Tech Specialist by using a custom built PC to act as a video streaming server to two other buildings. The other buildings connect directly to our server. It generally works well.

We have just been made aware of the Webcast Communicator and Receiver which we are anxious to know more about. However I find all of the documents related to it online are vague about the technical details. As far as I can tell, the communicator is similar to my custom PC and we would be pushing the stream to the SLC servers, and the remote buildings would pull the stream from SLC.

I'm looking for the technical specs on the devices, and specifics about the connections:
1) What hardware-wise is the communicator/receiver?
2) What kind of codec/broadcast stream type is being used?

Here's a whole sub-forum dedicated to this topic:

Also, have you seen these two documents already?
I thought they were pretty detailed, but perhaps they don't have the exact details you are seeking?
