I have the same problem. I installed the gospel app on Christmas day on this new android tablet and inadvertently highlighted 2 words. I've tried all of your suggestions to unhighlight but I can't. In fact, in the process I have highlighted more words which also don't let me unhighlight them. I have not synced to lds.org. If I remove the content and redownload the app will that remove the hightlights? But I cannot do that every time a mistake is made.

If its a known bug, I guess I can live with it until a resolution comes.

Any help is appreciated!
thanks

So I am able to answer my problem. Firstly, go to your father! I normally help my dad with his IT issues seeing as how I know a little bit from work etc. But I never had a tablet until Christmas day and now he's showing my things! I'm OK with that! So what you have to do is long-tap the highlighted section and the little small square boxes on the side come up. Tap the top box and then tap the trash can icon below. This will erase the highlight. He did it several times because in my trying to erase the highlights I layered them. Now, I thought I did what he did, in fact I am sure I did, but it didn't work for me only for him. Maybe its his touch!

So anyway try that and see if it works. email me: stuartsampson@caribsurf.com if you think I can be of more help, I doubt it though! :)

How do you delete highlighting in GL 3.3.3 on iphone 5? I do not have a trash bin icon, when I long tap to highlight text the icon menu contains only these 5 options: notation, tag, link, highlight and the arrow box which leads to messaging, mail, copy, print, notebook and bookmark. Thanks for any help you can give!

I had the same problem. If you tap the annotation boxes on the right the trash can appears. In attempting to delete the original highlights I created several layers. So I had to click on the annotation boxes several times but it worked.

i just found something that works. I log in to my LDS account and go to the scripture that I have unfortunately highlighted several times before realizing I can now only undo the current one, not the old ones.

I go to my online scriptures, I see only one highlight is recognized even though I have multiple on my iPad, both the 2.5 which I have kept and my 3.0 version. I hover my mouse over the highlight that shows, click on "edit note", then click on the trash can that appears and when the question box comes up asking if I really want to delete it I click ok. The highlight selection now disappears. I refresh the scripture page I am on and a new past highlight appears, so the earlier layer of my mistake. I go through the same process. When I check my device I notice that the colour mix-up of multiple old highlights is changing as I am one at a time removing old highlights. I just checked, I am done, the highlightings are now ALL GONE, yay!

bclawson wrote: Sat Jun 29, 2013 5:03 pm I found that just tapping on the existing highlight will bring up the menu with the trash can. Selecting the verse again allows me to overlap highlights but not delete existing ones. Please be aware that deleting the highlight also deletes links, notes, and tags as well.
this is the fix. thanks

You can "hide" the highlight by changing it's color to transparent (on my android it's the black & white checkered boxes color) in the color selections.
