Unable to save new journal entry

I hope that I'm not bringing up too old of a thread (if someone has a link to where this is being discussed more recently, let me know), but one of my friends and I are both still having this problem as well. Every once in a while, I will write a note to be attached to an annotation, but site will stall at "Saving..." When this happens, I can still save new highlights, but when I once again try to add a note to them, I get the same problem. This happens every couple weeks or so. A couple of these times, the bug has coincided with CSS breakdown of the flavor discussed here. The thought there was that the CSS breakdown was due to server end overload. Could that be connected with this issue as well?

It might be of note that when this happens, I can make notes on my tablet instead at the same time and they save and sync.

Specs: Mac OSX 10.7.5, Google Chrome browser
