From what I understood the printer is still connected to the computer (which is the method supported by HQ), the WAP was just a stake president approved add-on to the printer that came out of the stake tech budget to help the stake use the printer from their personal computers instead of inconviencing the person using MLS at the time are having to leave a meeting.

Correct. The printer is a HP3390 all-in-one provided and supported by the Church. We just "hijacked" the network port for use on the wireless network. It is completely free standing otherwise.

The wireless network runs parallel to the Cisco PIX for the CCN. And I am whitelisting the MAC addresses of any computers approved by Stake President. Currently Linksys WRT54GS, but I am changing it over to a Cisco 1100G for increased upstream security.

Works great.
