To be clear MLS will only run in a unit PC administrator account. The MLS administrator account is something different, it gives limited access to the functions in MLS itself. The administrator option just makes it easier to confirm that the security token has been reset correctly.bradpeterson@gmail.com wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 9:01 am Yes, I'm a stake technology specialist.
Just to confirm, if I'm in a ward clerk's computer as an administrator, then I can get the entire security token reset process working on my own? It would be ideal to deliver a new fully working clerk computer without needing to schedule a face-to-face meeting.
Others on the forum have successfully copied all the necessary files from one computer to another, without needing to contact the GSC. However I’ve never been successful with doing that.
I’ve changed over quite a few clerk computer’s in the last few years and have made a simple call, as the TS, to the GSC to have the token reset. Usually within a few minutes, with the GSC still on the line, you can confirm that everything is good!
In my own ward I happen to be the ward clerk, which means I have a better understanding of the process.
