Which languages are you fluent in?
A new poll has been posted on the main page. Please elaborate here on which languages you have knowledge and capabilities in.

Why so few?
Is there a reason the list is so small? My language (Italian) is not there.telfordca wrote:Please elaborate here on which languages you have knowledge and capabilities in.

To clarify a bit. Please enter on any language that you are fluent in. However, we have a need where we will be releasing the scriptures in an online format over the next several months in these languages. If you speak them or if you know of someone who does, we could use your help! What will happen is that we will release these versions of the scriptures on a special beta URL for the scriptures and we will ask the community to help us run through our test scripts. We are not looking for people to read all of the scriptures in the language .. that has been done by our scriptures translation department and it takes years to do. Instead, we are looking for people to help us with the help screens, navigation, and basic program translations. In addition, we need people to just test for regression and functionality bugs. So, we will publish a document of tests we wish the community to perform and we ask that any issues found be reported back.
This is a great opportunity for the community to help in testing a very important application. Let me know if you have any questions.

Given the intent, I'm a little puzzled about the last choice "English, Spanish, or Portuguese". I do quite well in English, but since I'm here in this forum, you knew that already. I didn't see how responding would help the project as it would seem to inflate the number of Spanish, or Portuguese speakers.

While I don't know for sure, my presumption in that English, Spanish, and Portuguese have been grouped together because there are already released versions of the scriptures online in those languages.
This seems consistent with Tom's statement (above) about looking for beta testers for the unreleased versions.
