Baptismal Record For Deceased Person

#1

Post by bri_guy45 »

I have a lady in my ward that would like a copy of her deceased son's baptismal record. What is the best way to go about getting this? He was not in the ward/stake when he passed away.

Assuming his ward clerk was notified of his passing, I'd check FamilySearch.

If it's not there, I'd work though FamilySearch to get that fixed. I think you'd have a much better chance using that angle then trying to get information about another member though the local unit.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Are you talking about the child's actual baptism record, the one on paper? Or are you talking about the baptism information about him in membership records? I don't think it's possible to obtain a photocopy of the actual baptism paper record if she's lost the original. As far as I know, all such member records are kept in files in the Church History Library that are not accessible to most members.

If you're talking about the baptism data, the information I have may be way too old. I have what's called an "Individual Ordinance Summary" printed by my clerk for me in 2004. It contains the names of each of my children, their gender, birth date, confirm date, and record number; nothing more.
