Correct Priesthood Line of Authority

#1

Post by ShawnWest »

I was looking at a line of authority for a member today as they are missing the individual who ordained them.

I looked at mine and noticed the same thing.

How do we add the individual who performed the ordinance so the LOA can be corrected? I just ordained my son and would love to provide him our actual line.

Thank you

If you know who performed your ordination then your stake clerk can update that ordination information.

I assume you're looking in the Member Tools app. I'd start by asking the clerk for your IOS (Information and Ordinance Summery) and see if it's recorded there.

Some wards provide a IOS for review during Tithing Settlement.

Does the stake clerk need the membership number of the individual?
I do not live in the same stake I did in 1996

Check with your ward/ward membership clerk. I'm talking about the membership record. Normally the person who ordained you for the most recent/highest office is recorded there.

If it's not, then it could get interesting.

They'll need to be able to identify the person. If you don't know enough for the clerk to do it directly there may be ways for GSD to find them. The GSD can search by name and former unit, or can look up by some historical callings.
