YM specialists not being added to youth chat

Post by macylrob »

We are trying to make the switch to circles but have 2 YM youth leaders who we are unable to add to the youth chat. We believe it is because their calling is specialist and not advisor. Is there a way we can get these 2 people added?

There must be something about their calling that is the issue. I just checked whether our Aaronic Priesthood quorum specialists were available in the YM circles. They are. I did notice that unless they join the circles they will not be in the circle. If you are an administrator you can check the Members and Administrators for the circle and there will be three lists; Administrators, Joined, and Not Joined. Are they not showing in the Not Joined list?

Make sure their calling in LCR is the standard calling and not a custom calling. Custom callings are granted no permissions online or in apps beyond what the general ward membership have. The custom calling will be preceded by a "*" in the LCR callings list.

If nobody has already done it, you can add the 'position' to the group so they are automatically assigned based on their calling, IIRC that has to be setup initially.
