ClearTouch RL500 and NDI|HX

Greetings,

I'm looking to setup an RL500 with a single Ethernet cable using PoE and NDI|HX. Has anyone used the RL500 with NDI|HX? I'm curious how much video lag (if any) you experienced.

Has anyone compared using NDI|HX vs RTSP to send the video to OBS?

Hi, do you have yours setup thru ethernet? if so, could you share your setup with NDI? my stake just got this RL500 camera.
I'm hoping to use this for zoom and stake conferences.

Prior to purchasing the cameras, the stake's plans changed, so unfortunately I can't be of much help.

While I don't have ClearTouch RL500 at my buiIdings, we have BirdDog P200's which my stake purchased as the FM group was only providing an HDMI/SDI PTZ camera, with just a cable hanging down from the camera and a remote to adjust and this just wouldn't work for us. After some pushing they finally sent a model that had NDI which went into one of my other buildings, but its not the ClearTouch.

We have our cameras wired with POE so that they are powered without the FM group needing to have power run nearby. We also have the camera tapped into the chapel audio so that it pulls in the audio from the pulpit or any XLR in the room. We utilize the NDI Tools and use the NDI Webcam Input app to choose the camera and then in Zoom select the NDI Video and Audio feeds to pass those to Zoom. I would suggest that you also change the audio settings to make sure you can use original audio as zoom does drop a lot of audio and it just sounds more robust with original audio.

Currently I have left it open to allow anyone with the software to be able to access the camera, but in the near future with a setup of computers each Ward is purchasing for streaming, it will then be locked down to only allowing those machines to access the cameras.

In terms of lag/latency, we only experience about a half a second if not less, depending on the amount of traffic on the network. When it comes to Stake Conference, we turn off the Liahona wifi to decrease that issue. I utilize OBS for managing my cameras and then use the plugin obs-ndi (which has been renamed to DistroAV) to be able to provide a program feed back out to NDI which I then use another machine to handle the Zoom feed to not make one machine handle everything. It has worked really well for us.

I have just installed the ClearTouch RL500 camera and NDI for the video works exceptionally well, with an estimated 200ms latency.

However, I am finding that the NDI audio quality is less than ideal, I am hearing noise artifacts like someone shuffling papers, while the same feed coming out of the camera directly to HDMI is completely clean.

So we use NDI Studio Monotor for preview and limited camera control via presets, NDI Webcam to deliver video, but we prefer a wireless audio bridge for the audio, or we provide HDMI jacks in two positions in the back of the chapel.
