Ministering Assignment List honoring (or indicating) privacy

#1

Post by andypoulsen »

Hi All,

My ward is all single adults, and quite a few of the sisters have their address (and sometimes phone and email) info set to private. When our EQ secretary generated the ministering assignments and printed the list (which goes to a PDF), all address info (including those portions marked private) was included on the report. Using the "Send Assignment" functionality does the same thing (all info).

The sisters who have requested to have their information private really don't like this (which is totally understandable -- at least one of them has had a stalker in the past and doesn't want her information publicized anywhere). I'm guessing any brothers who have marked their info private wouldn't like it either...

It sure seems to me there should be an option to have those reports respect the privacy settings. If it's there, please help me find it!

When that option is turned OFF (i.e. showing the address info, etc), those private items should be marked with some indicator (such as an asterisk, etc) so that those looking at the report (presumably leadership) would know that said info should be treated carefully.

Thank you for listening!

For your awareness, the Tech Forum serves as a user-to-user discussion and self-help site, and is not connected to the Church Support team. So while Forum members are always willing to share thoughts and suggest workarounds, any actual changes to functionality need to be shared with the Church via the Feedback functionality available at the bottom of most Church webpages, or via any of the Church apps.

That said, this is a recurring topic in the Forum -- for example, there is an ongoing thread here: Leadership information only. Perhaps you could post any additional comments to that thread, or at least subscribe to the topic so that if there are any interesting responses, you'll see them as well.
