Get list of primary children

#1

Post by katwar »

I was recently called as the Primary president in my ward and I was looking on lds.org to see if there is a way I can get a list of all the primary age children in the ward with their birthdays and contact info. I couldn't find a way to get a list of the children at all. Is there a way that I have somehow missed or could a feature be added for Primary presidents to be able to see organization information like that?

Currently there is no way for Primary Presidents to access reports on LDS.ORG. The membership information is still in the programming phase with more capabilities being added a little at a time. Maybe someday Primary presidents will have this information available to them for now you will have to see your ward clerk for the information.

The last post on How to get list of Primary children was in December 2011. As a member of the Primary presidency, how do I get a list of primary children?

It would be though LCR, but someone else would have to give you exact steps.

There is no report available just for listing children. But there are two reports that may meet that need that you can view as needed, The Primary Organization report and the Class and Quorum Attendance report. The caveat is only children of record will be available. That holds true for any report.

The Primary Organization report, found in the Callings menu item, will list all children together either by class or by age when the Organizations drop-down list box has all the classes from nursery to valiant 10 selected. Also the filters for the adults should not be selected. The default list of the children will be by class. The sort can be changed to age by clicking the "Age" column title. The list will show the children from oldest to youngest. Click the "Age" column title again to change the age from youngest to oldest. There is no option to sort the list of children alphabetically. Sorting the list by class will provide the list by class alphabetically within each class.

The Class and Quorum Attendance report, found in the Reports menu item, is the closest you can get to a list of Primary children alphabetically. If you want a complete list make sure no class is selected and "Primary" is selected in the class selection drop-down list box. The limitation of that report is the listing will be names along with some attendance information only. There will be no personal or contact information in that report.

Your ward clerk can print a custom report. That report can include the head of house and the head of house spouse names but without their contact information. The report will be snapshot in time that will not accurately represent the Primary membership as time goes on.

As a clerk, I can go into LCR, go to Membership->Member Directory. Then in the drop-down menu where it says 'All Members', change that to 'Primary', and print. It should have 'Individuals' selected by default, but there's the option to do it by households.

To change which information for them is available, click on the Show drop-down menu (and for example, check Address if you want their addresses on it, too).
