LDS TOOLS does not display my information.

#1

Post by gtupling »

When anyone logs into LDS tools, I cannot be found. If we go to the church's home page I am listed in the ward directory, but not in LDS tools. This has been going on for the past four years. My Bishop and several Ward and Stake leaders have all told me that I am not listed in the tools app. My wife and one of my daughters are listed, but not me! I have posted this question once before, but I did not get a response. Can someone check into this?

Talk to your clerk and find out the status of your record. It may not be in the ward.

I know a non-member spouse can appear on the ward directory though the marriage record of the member spouse. That might be why you're appearing there even though the record is not in the ward.

Another thing that can throw things off is if you're listed under a different "Family" name. Have the clerk check that as well.

If he can't figure it out, send him over here or have him call GSD.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

One thing I've experienced is 'random data loss' in Tools, where I do not see data that others see. It doesn't seem like what you're describing, but in the meantime it might be worth it to have another member try out either a data refresh, logout/login, or uninstall/reinstall of the app.

In the last 4-6 weeks, I have had two different families just disappear from the tools app. They ar gone for a few weeks and then randomly reappear. Their records were always visible on the website, just not in tools. One of these families is the stake patriarch and he needs families to find his address.

Two families just disappeared from everyone’s Tools in my ward, but everything appears normal in LCR. Sounds like the same problem.

Are you combined with another household? I mean, like your parents or something? I don't mean to say that you are, but if you are, that might complicate things, especially if the head has the household set to private.

My family dropped out of tools also. Our records are most definitely in the ward. I have visited my visibility settings and they are full visibility. We can't see ourselves and others can't see us. Not looking for a solution right now, but thought I'd add another data point.

This has been happening occasionally in our ward with random families as well. Doing a data refresh, found under settings on the member app, has cleared it up each time thus far.

This thread is very similar to my experience. I currently have records in two wards. My profile selection is for full(stake) visibility. Yet, my phone, email, and address are not visible to anyone in either ward including my EQ President's which preclude communication. This is a real problem because I am excluded from invitation and involvement. Ward clerks have not been able to help. Thoughts?

Could you provide a bit more info? The posts in this thread seem to be focused on members not showing up at all in Tools, whereas it seems you're stating that you do show up in Tools, but there's no details listed. Or is it not specific to Tools, and the same thing is happening in the two online ward directories (you appear in the online directories, but there's no details listed there)?

I currently have my records in two units, and the out-of-unit membership record did not automatically transfer any of my contact info (at least, that's what the clerk told me, I assume he followed the correct process). So the clerk manually added that info into my out-of-unit record. Perhaps others can state if this is how things normally work, or if perhaps my clerk missed something. That said, my contact info in my home unit was always correctly visible in both Tools and the online directory.

If you can specify info on that, perhaps other Forum members can share some helpful ideas beyond our typical generic responses (which most often are quite helpful even if somewhat generic!)
