Unable to Download Russian Language on Android

I've been unable for a long time to download the Russian language on the Gospel Library app for Android. I've updated to the latest version, and I'm able to download other languages like Spanish and even ASL. Whenever I try to download Russian though, it thinks for a second and then crashes the app.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or know of any open bugs related to this?

What document are you on? I think it only downloads the language for that document or menu.

I've tried it from the main menu, but just this morning I navigated to 1 Nephi 1 and tried changing to Russian. Unfortunately, I got the same crash. I also tried doing this from one of the October 2023 General Conference talks and it crashed too.

Are you still seeing the issue after this morning's content update? I tested on Android and iOS, both from the root library and from 1 Nephi 1, and it seems to work for me.

Yeah, still seeing it. I've tried from the root menu and from other documents, but I get the same behavior.

Maybe it's something with the installation on my device. If I Uninstall the app and reinstall, will all of my existing notes and bookmarks be preserved? Just want to double check before I take this step.

Kinda a side note: I can get the BofM, but we still cannot get the Bible in Russian. We have a YW immigrant from Ukraine whose primary language is Russian, and during our classes when we read from our Come Follow Me study both last year (OT) and this year (NT), unfortunately we cannot get it.

It's not a crash, but a message "Content not available". So I expect for some reason the Church doesn't have an official version of the Bible in Russian (since we can get the BofM and D&C in Russian). Perhaps that's a known issue posted somewhere, if anyone knows about that it would be helpful to have something to refer to.

Right, the Russian Bible is kind of a weird situation, but if I could get the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and General Conference talks in Russian, that would make my day!

If you are signed in and your annotations have been syncing, your existing notes, notebooks, tags, highlights, bookmarks, and study plans are attached to your Church Account and will reappear when you sign in again after deleting and reinstalling the app. Screens/tabs, History/Continue Reading, settings, and downloaded books and media do not currently sync – those items will be reset. Before you delete and reinstall, here's how you can make sure your content is syncing:
1. Make sure your name and username shows at the top of Gospel Library Settings with a recent "last sync" message below it.
2. Check at Study.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and/or Notes.ChurchofJesusChrist.org to see if your annotations (including recent annotations) show up there (you'll need to sign in to see them).

Most preferred translations of the Bible in other languages are still in copyright. The Church currently only has a license to publish Bible translations in a handful of languages, but that number is growing over time.
