I was hoping to see an icon for submitting a question. I could not find a way to do that so I am replying to this posting.
I know there used to be a page on one of the church websites that described having a 5 year technology plan and that each STS should develop one for their stake. I cannot find that information anywhere now. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: 5 Year technology plan
It's the "New Topic" button. But that only appears in the forum and not when reading a thread.
I don't recall anything like that. Church headquarters tends to push out new technologies and we only find out about them right when they're pushed out. The local units are not part of the planning process. The closest thing to a 5 years plan that I'm aware of is that unit computers are supposed to be replaced on a 5 year cycle. link However, one needs to work with FM in the 4th year to make sure that's budgeted for.
As such, I'd suggest doing an inventory of unit computers, including the build date (usually found on the sticker by the serial number), and communicate with FM about the status.

Re: 5 Year technology plan
I'd like to add that I really think they should at least have a discussion with area STS's when there is new technology is being discussed for buildings. That as well as be more consistent across the world versus some locations getting bare minimum while we see when visiting buildings in Utah, of the same age, are up to date.
