Hey,
I've got a ward clerk that's complaining his laptops, which both run Linux, can't connect through the Liahona captive portal. He's wanting to use the Lehi network as his permanent connection at church, but I don't really think that's a good answer.
Has anyone ran into this issue in the past? I'm trying to get some more details from him, but I wanted to see if anyone has been up against this before.
Thanks

Re: Linux issues with Captive Portal
Is he running a VPN, or anything that would prevent him from using the church's DNS?
As I understand it, using the supplied DNS is what directs you to the splash screen to gain access. Any VPN may be blocked.

Re: Linux issues with Captive Portal
Thanks for the reply. No VPN, but does seem to be a DNS issue. Doing a little research, it seems to be not uncommon for some Linux distros to have issues with captive portals. It's been a long time since I was into Linux, so I no longer have the skills to help him dive into it, but I did send him some articles/forums to look at. Hopefully he can figure it out.
