Notes/Journal Question

#1

Post by Whymezed »

I do apologize if this has been answered already but I was unable to locate an answer. So here goes...

Eventually when I have passed (many years from now I hope), what happens to my notations in the Notes/Journal section? Will family be able to access those electronic thoughts and documentations that I've had over the years? Will there be a link to print them up? I would love to know. Thank you for your time in reading this.

Your Church Account becomes disabled soon after your membership record changes. However, your Gospel Library annotations are not immediately deleted. The spouse or the executor of estate of the deceased member can send a message to the support team (through in-app feedback, for example) and request that the annotations be copied to a new account that the family can access. The process takes a few weeks (approval from legal; verification of relation to the deceased).

You also have the ability to download these things now at the previous Notes page.

https://www.lds.org/study-tools

Click on the down arrows next to your notebooks. Click Download.

Check those items you would like to include in your download.
  • Include highlights
  • Include bookmarks
  • Include journal entries
  • Include details
Select the file type format you would like to use:
  • DOCX
  • RTF
  • Backup (XML)
Click Download. Depending on what you are downloading, it may take a moment.

I tried the DOCX download and it didn't work. However, the rtf version did.

Can i download several note books at a time?

Can i create my own backup of my notes?

The download feature referred to above no longer exists in the form discussed. There is now a download button you can click on, and it does download SOME annotations but certainly not all. In my case, it's downloading annotations created between 2011 and the end of 2014 but nothing more recent. Does anyone know why the download feature does not download all annotations?
